Dead Island
Anyone have it? I beat it twice now and ready for more! Great game and you can get it pretty cheap now.

I'm still looking. Really into Dead Rising right now though, so I need to talk myself into more zombies, lol.

Never seemed that interested in it, how is it?

Re: Dead Island
Well, Dead Island is Dead Rising mixed with fallout. If you like just killing tons (and I mean tons. There can be up to 7000 on screen at one time in DR2. In Off the Record, its even more) of zombies with crazy weapons, its great. Decent writing means it can be quite funny at points too.

Sounds interesting, any online or co-op?

Re: Dead Island
In DR2, both competitive and Co-Op. In Off the Record they removed competitive to make room for sandbox mode, but there is still Co-Op. Works the same as in Dead Island in that only the host can save the story progress, but you keep PP and cash you've earned. Really, if you've played fallout, just remove anything fallout from the game, and you have Dead Rising. Graphics aren't the best, but you don't really notice outside of cutscenes.
Also, I thought you torrented it when it came out?

Re: Dead Island
I did not like Fallout 3. Torrented, played about 15 minutes of it, and uninstalled. It felt like a giant mod for Oblivion.
Just bought Fallout 1,2, and Tactics on a Steam sale though, so I'll be playing that

Fallout is too slow and depressing for me, and that is the main problem people have with it. Or they just decide not to like it. Just watch some gameplay videos. Personally, I like it, and I think you will too, but what do I know?

Re: Dead Island
I like games with at least some linear game play, I played fallout, got outside and decided to walk 5 miles in one direction and got lost and gave up..

Re: Dead Island
LOL. I forgot about that. Well, in DR2 you always have something you need to be doing, and there is an arrow at the top of the screen pointing you there. Its a fairly accurate arrow too, and will tilt to point up or down stairs if thats where you need to go. They keep you on a pretty tight schedule, always telling you to rescue this person, or kill this Psycho. You can ignore anything you want though. Its a decent system.

The only thing I didn't like about DR2 was the quest time limit things. I'm the king of person that HAS to get everything done, and when I have to run a 1000 metres across Vegas to do a quest just to run out of time, I get pretty frustrated.

Re: Dead Island
That is annoying, but adds to the game IMO. And you can always ignore them, lol. And Off the Record has a sandbox mode anyway, if you just want to fool around.
